Skagit County has an active ARES/RACES organization. We are utilized by the county Department of Emergency Management, numerous local Search and Rescue (SAR) organizations, and the Red Cross, just to name a few. We have a permanent amateur radio installation in the county emergency communications radio room, and we operate a communications van for mobile emergency communications and SAR activities. We have members active with the local Community Emergency Response Team programs (CERT).

The club repeater hosts an ARES/RACES Net each Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM local time. Visitors are welcome.

To participate officially with the group, registration with the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management is mandatory. Contact the ARRL Emergency Coordinator or one of his assistants for details.
